About the survey
Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) are expected to be a viable Nuclear solution to meet energy supply security, both in newcomer and expanding countries. Currently, there are more than 70 global SMR designs under development.
Amidst the development, Nuclear Business Platform (NBP) has identified that the nuclear industry is only focused on compiling insights from the SMR Developers but there is a lack of insights and perspectives from the end users and prospective buyers – the government officials and key nuclear stakeholders in respective countries.
For the second year now, we are conducting a comprehensive survey among newcomer and expanding countries in Africa. Results from this survey will play a pivotal role in bridge the gap between SMR Developers and end users with the goal of accelerating the deployment of SMR technology in both newcomer and expanding countries in Africa.
Furthermore, the survey insights will allow potential adopters of SMR technology, to learn about the criteria other countries are prioritizing as well as provide valuable feedback to SMR Developers to refine and streamline their technology to cater to the respective markets accordingly.
