International Implications of U.S. Nuclear Executive Orders

The recent U.S. Executive Orders outline a 25-year plan to significantly expand U.S. nuclear energy capacity, targeting an increase from approximately 100 GW to 400 GW by 2050 and to promote American nuclear exports and create opportunities for collaboration. The EO’s also mentioned a few other diplomatic initiatives, including promotion of the Convention on Supplemental Compensation for Nuclear Damage (CSC). To understand and make sense of the international implications of these EOs, we sought the views from Hunton.
